UK Consultant Gets 2 Years For Insider Trading

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 3:13 PM EST) -- A British management consultant has been found guilty of 22 counts of insider dealing and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, the U.K.'s Financial Services Authority reported Thursday.

Rupinder Sidhu was charged by the FSA for using insider knowledge obtained by former AKO Capital LLP trader Anjam Ahmad to place spread bets on 18 different U.K. and European listed shares between May 15 and Aug. 22, 2009, bringing in around £524,000 ($811,000), the regulator said.
