US Contracts Need Unified ID System: Transparency Board

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 4:05 PM EST) -- The Government Accountability and Transparency Board on Wednesday called for a centralized accountability system to track and oversee all federal spending, including a universal identification system to track all awards, grants and contracts.

President Barack Obama created the board in June to recommend ways to improve the tracking and display of federal spending data and broaden the use of cutting-edge forensic fraud detection technologies.
