Skechers Toning Shoe MDL Centralized In Ky.

Law360, New York (December 19, 2011, 7:39 PM EST) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Monday centralized 12 lawsuits alleging shoe maker Skechers USA Inc.'s Shape-ups toning shoes caused injuries, sending the case to Kentucky for pretrial proceedings.

The panel said the lawsuits, filed individually in nine federal districts, should be heard together because they share several factual questions.

Skechers Shape-ups feature a rocker bottom sole that the plaintiffs contend altered their gait and caused severe lateral instability, the order said.
