Coal-Fired Plant Would Surpass New EPA Limits: Enviros

Law360, New York (December 19, 2011, 7:26 PM ET) -- Four environmental advocacy groups on Monday challenged a Georgia agency's decision to grant a permit to a proposed coal-fired power plant allowing it to pollute in excess of new federal emissions limits expected to be finalized this month.

The groups, including the Fall-Line Alliance for a Clean Environment and Sierra Club, filed a petition in the Georgia Office of State Administrative Hearings on Monday, asking the court to vacate the permit for Power4Georgians LLC's proposed 850-megawatt plant to be built in Sandersville, Ga.
