Tech Co. Juniper Sues Competitor Over Firewall Patents

Law360, New York (December 19, 2011, 10:07 PM EST) -- Computer networking company Juniper Networks Inc. sued Palo Alto Networks Inc. in Delaware federal court on Monday, accusing its rival, founded by ex-Juniper employees, of infringing its patented firewall technology that the former employees invented.

California-based Juniper claims in-state rival Palo Alto has willfully infringed six of its patents relating to core aspects of firewall technology, including protecting computer networks from dangerous incoming communications and individuals attempting to gain unauthorized access to the networks.
