Microsoft, Google Bash Data Transmission Patent Suit

Law360, New York (December 20, 2011, 7:17 PM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. and Google Inc. on Monday took aim at patent holding company SimpleAir Inc.'s suit accusing them of infringing network messaging and data transmission patents, asking a Texas federal judge to dismiss the case and arguing that SimpleAir's allegations are insufficient.

Microsoft and Google lodged separate motions to dismiss, targeting SimpleAir's Sept. 15 complaint, which asserted two patents against Microsoft, Google and nine others including Motorola Mobility Inc., Nokia Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
