Latham Aids Solar Co. In $130M Korean-Led Funding Round

Law360, New York (December 20, 2011, 4:19 PM EST) -- Stion Corp., a California-based maker of thin-film solar cells, has received $130 million in growth equity investment led by Korean tech materials manufacturer Avaco Co. Ltd. and a number of Korean private equity firms, the company announced Tuesday.

Existing U.S.-based investors Khosla Ventures LLC, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Braemar Energy Ventures and General Catalyst Partners LLC all participated in the financing round, as did VentureTech Alliance LLC, the investment arm of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
