US Chamber Hacked By Chinese Group

Law360, New York (December 21, 2011, 1:12 PM EST) -- A group with possible ties to the Chinese government hacked into the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's computer systems and won access to information about the lobbying group's 3 million members, according to a report Wednesday.

The Chamber discovered the breach in May 2010 and moved quickly and discreetly to kill it, but the hackers may have had access to the group's systems for more than a year at that point, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing “people familiar with the Chamber's internal investigation.”
