Sanofi, Sun Settlement Ends Plavix Patent Case

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 3:24 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge signed off Wednesday on a settlement between Bristol-Myers Squibb Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Holding Partnership and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., ending a patent suit over Sun's efforts to horn in on the lucrative market for the blood-thinner Plavix.

U.S. District Judge Sidney H. Stein gave his blessing to a stipulation that dismissed all the claims in the case with prejudice, and said that Sun was enjoined from making or selling its proposed generic except as permissible under the parties' recent deal.
