Privacy Group Sues DHS For Info On Social Monitoring

Law360, New York (December 22, 2011, 6:40 PM EST) -- The Electronic Privacy Information Center sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday, seeking to force the agency to reveal information about a new program to monitor social media sites, collect information from users and share it with other agencies.

In a suit filed in Washington federal court under the Freedom of Information Act, EPIC accused DHS of ignoring its requests, first filed in April, for information about the program.
