Law360, New York (January 03, 2012, 9:04 PM ET) -- Arnold & Porter LLP attorneys helped convince the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down a Vermont law prohibiting pharmaceutical companies from marketing physician prescription data, one of several victories that earned the firm a spot among Law360’s Privacy and Consumer Protection Groups of 2011.

An Arnold & Porter team represented leading trade group Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America in its challenge to the Prescription Confidentiality Law, which barred pharmacies, data mining companies and other entities from selling prescriber information without physicians’ consent.
