DC Circ. Snuffs Out Suit Over FDA's Ear Candle Warnings

Circuit on Tuesday tossed a lawsuit brought by holistic health remedy advocates over the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's targeting of ear candle makers, ruling that the FDA's warning letters were not final agency actions subject to judicial review.

Ear candles are hollow tubes made of fabric and soaked in beeswax or paraffin that users place in their ear and set on fire. Marketers of the product claim they help to treat colds, the flu, sore throats, earaches, ear infections, swollen glands, sleep disorders...
