Wiretaps In Gupta Case Get Tentative Nod From Judge

Law360, New York (January 05, 2012, 7:19 PM ET) -- The New York federal judge overseeing the insider trading case against former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director Rajat Gupta said Thursday that he will likely allow government wiretaps to be used at the trial, casting doubt on a defense push to exclude the novel evidence.

Prosecutors say Gupta passed tips about the secret goings-on at Goldman and Procter & Gamble Co., another company at which he was a director, to his friend, wealthy hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam.
