GSA Adopts Rule To Tighten Tech Contract Security

Law360, New York (January 9, 2012, 7:18 PM EST) -- The U.S. General Services Administration on Friday issued a rule amending its acquisition regulation in an effort to strengthen the security requirements for contracts and orders that include information technology supplies, services and systems.

The interim final rule requires contractors to submit, within 30 days of a contract award, an information technology security plan that describes the processes and procedures that they intend to follow to ensure appropriate security of the IT resources that are developed, processed or used under the subject contract, the agency revealed...
