Law360, New York (January 06, 2012, 7:37 PM ET) -- New smartphones released by Research In Motion Ltd. cannot automatically be considered equivalent to RIM products already found not to infringe a digital camera patent held by Eastman Kodak Co., a U.S. International Trade Commission judge wrote in a ruling made public Thursday.
In a ruling dated Dec. 27, Administrative Law Judge Thomas B. Pender denied RIM's request to supplement the record to add its new products, which the company claims are in the same category as its other products found not to infringe.
