Greenberg Aids SL Green In $253M NYC Tower Buy

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 5:21 PM EST) -- SL Green Realty Corp., New York City’s largest office landlord, will pay $252.5 million — about $647 per square foot — for a 37-story Manhattan office building that has significant lease expirations in 2014, the REIT confirmed Tuesday.

The 390,000-square-foot building at 10 E. 53rd St. is the home of HarperCollins Publishers, whose lease for some 240,000 square feet is up in 2014. The building was owned by New Millennium Estates Ltd., which bought it in 1993 for $58 million, and mortgaged by Italian bank Intesa...
