EU Privacy Watchdog To Focus On 2012 Financial Reforms

Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 6:41 PM EST) -- A European privacy watchdog on Tuesday released a list of priorities for the coming year, including scrutinizing the potential data protection implications of financial sector reform and analyzing an overhaul to the European Union's data protection framework.

European Data Protection Supervisor Peter Hustinx said he would issue a package of opinions on financial reform proposals concerning banking, financial instruments, credit rating agencies and market abuse.
