Ex-Dow Scientist Gets 5 Years For Selling Secrets

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 7:51 PM ET) -- A former Dow Chemical Co. scientist was sentenced to five years in prison in Louisiana federal court for allegedly selling rubber-making secrets to China and lying under oath, the U.S. Department of Justice said Friday.

Wen Chyu Liu, also known as David W. Liou, 75, of Houston, was also sentenced to two years of supervised release and ordered to forfeit $600,000 and pay a $25,000 fine by U.S. District Judge James J. Brady.
