IP Firm Fross Zelnick Sues PwC For Malpractice

Law360, Los Angeles (January 18, 2012, 6:50 PM EST) -- Intellectual property law firm Fross Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu PC sued PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for malpractice Friday, claiming the accounting giant’s grossly negligent calculations understated the law firm’s pension plan liabilities by $1.2 million, leading to a costly decision to terminate the plan.

“PwC advised that Fross Zelnick could terminate the plan without further liability except for related accounting and legal expenses,” the lawsuit alleges. “However, as detailed [in the lawsuit] and admitted to by PwC, the 2010 termination calculations were grossly incorrect and contained significant errors.”...
