On Sept. 27, 2011, Judge Randall Rader, Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit, introduced a new model order on e-discovery at the Eastern District of Texas Judicial Conference. The model order was drafted and adopted by the Federal Circuit Advisory Counsel. The stated purposes of the model order are both to streamline e-discovery and to "encourage discussion and public commentary by judges, litigants, and other interested parties regarding e-discovery problems and potential solutions."...
