Law360, New York (January 18, 2012, 8:01 PM ET) -- The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. on Friday hit Questar Capital Corp., the broker-dealer unit of Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America, with $3.25 million in damages after a former broker accused the company of defamation and breach of contract.
A FINRA arbitration panel awarded former Questar employee Thomas J. Gorter $3,251,907 in compensatory damages for his claims of tortious interference with contractual relationship, breach of contract, negligence and defamation.
