Maine Regulators Greenlight $363M Wind Farm Project

Law360, New York (January 19, 2012, 7:40 PM EST) -- Maine environmental regulators on Wednesday approved an expanded version of a 150-megawatt wind project to be built by Boston-based First Wind Holdings LLC, moving the $363 million project one step closer to completion.

As a condition of the approval, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection said that First Wind's turbines must operate in reduced sound power mode and the company must submit to sound level monitoring reports in response to concerns voiced by local residents, among other requirements.
