House GOP To Push Oil Sands Pipeline Again In Tax Fight

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 8:03 PM EST) -- House Republicans said Friday that they would keep trying to force the president's hand on the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline despite his recent refusal to approve it, with one prominent lawmaker saying he wants to use the issue in negotiations over extending the payroll tax holiday.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., told reporters he'd like to see legislation reviving the pipeline tacked onto a bill that would extend the payroll tax holiday and unemployment benefits.
