Debt Collection Suit Won't Get High Court Hearing

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 3:26 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to mull whether a federal law that prohibits debt collectors from using unfair means or seeking unauthorized fees applies to a collector's communications with a debtor's attorneys, an issue stemming from a proposed consumer class action.
