Verizon Ripped Off TV Plan Members On Fees: Suit

Law360, Washington (January 23, 2012, 4:41 PM ET) -- Verizon Communications Inc. illegally charged service fees to subscribers of its TV protection plan, which the company had promised they would be exempt from, according to a putative class action lodged in New Jersey federal court Friday.

The terms of Verizon's TV protection plan specifically excluded subscribers with televisions larger that 32 inches from having to pay a $75 service fee, but Verizon refused to allow any subscribers with TVs that large to get service until the fee was paid, according to Maureen Chandra's complaint....
