Lilly Sues Accord Over Generic Lung Cancer Drug Alimta

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 7:56 PM ET) -- Eli Lilly & Co. filed suit in Indiana federal court Friday alleging Accord Healthcare Inc. infringed its patent by applying for regulatory approval to make a generic version of lung cancer chemotherapy drug Alimta.

Accord notified Lilly on Dec. 8 that it had submitted an abbreviated new drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration seeking to make a generic version of the drug, according to the complaint.
