Censored Deal Won't Close Lighting Patent Case: ITC

Law360, New York (January 24, 2012, 6:05 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Monday refused to endorse a settlement agreement ending Litepanels Ltd.’s patent infringement case against Elation Lighting Inc., saying the entirely redacted public version of the settlement doesn’t pass muster.

The trade court's investigative staff said in a response to the lighting companies’ joint motion to remove Elation from Litepanels’ suit alleging theft of various of its LED lighting patents that the blacked out settlement document didn't comply with the court's rules relating to the termination of investigations.
