House Bill Targets High Court's Eminent Domain Ruling

Law360, New York (January 25, 2012, 5:39 PM EST) -- The House Judiciary Committee cleared a bill Tuesday that would reverse the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark 2005 ruling allowing the use of eminent domain for public benefit.

The committee endorsed H.R. 1433, titled the Private Property Rights Protection Act of 2011, voting 23-5 to approve the measure for report to the full House.
