Commerce Kicks Off Countervailing Duty Probe On Hangers

Law360, New York (January 25, 2012, 4:11 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has agreed to investigate claims that Vietnamese companies were importing and selling wire hangers in the U.S. at below-market prices, according to a notice filed in the federal register Tuesday.

Last week, Commerce initiated a countervailing duty investigation into Vietnamese wire hanger imports, as well as an anti-dumping investigation into wire hangers from both Vietnam and Taiwan.
