Plaintiffs Add State Claims In Natural Gas MDL

Law360, New York (July 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in a massive antitrust case against a group of natural gas wholesalers have lodged a second amended complaint, charging that the defendants' alleged price-fixing scheme violates Wisconsin state law and makes them eligible for treble damages.

Wisconsin uses between $1.75 and $3.5 billion worth of natural gas per year, but does not produce any itself, Arandell Corp., Merrick's Inc., Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. and Sargento Foods Inc. said in their amended complaint, filed on behalf of all similarly situated parties.
