Ford, UPS, 8 Others Hit With Call Center Patent Suits

Law360, New York (February 01, 2012, 9:02 PM ET) -- A unit of intellectual property licensing group Pragmatus accused Ford Motor Co., E-Trade Financial Corp., United Parcel Service Inc. and seven other companies of patent infringement relating to technology used in automated call distribution centers in separate complaints filed Friday in Delaware federal court.

Pragmatus Telecom LLC said the 10 companies are violating three of its patents with its customer service communication operations, specifically using servers to provide network service to a customer, including a remote help option that connects to a call center.
