MacroSolve Drags Facebook, Wal-Mart Into Mobile IP Fight

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 4:29 PM ET) -- MacroSolve Inc. fired off patent infringement suits against Facebook, Wal-Mart and three others in Texas federal court on Monday, adding to a lengthy list of targets in the company's rights battle over technology used in mobile applications.

The mobile services company has accused dozens of others — including AT&T Inc., American Airlines Inc., Citigroup Inc. and Groupon Inc. — of similar violations relating to data collection and transmission technology in smartphone apps that allegedly infringes U.S. Patent Number 7,822,816.
