Immigration Firm Sues State Farm For Data Security Coverage

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 4:20 PM EST) -- Los Angeles immigration law firm Reeves & Associates PLC on Monday sued State Farm General Insurance Co., claiming the insurance giant failed to honor a policy covering employee dishonesty after an employee downloaded firm documents containing trade secrets and private client information.

Reeves & Associates sought coverage after one of its employees downloaded thousands of pages of the firm's confidential documents, including trade secrets, information protected by attorney-client privilege and personnel files, according to a complaint filed in California state court.
