Citi Unit Discriminated Against Older Manager: FINRA

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 2:35 PM EST) -- A Financial Industry Regulatory Authority dispute resolution panel last week ordered Citigroup Inc. unit Citigroup Global Markets Inc. to pay $500,000 to a former branch manager who accused the company of age discrimination in violation of Florida law.

The panel ruled for claimant Edward Laurence Bowne on his claim of age discrimination in violation of the Florida Civil Rights Act, but it denied his claim of discrimination in violation of the federal Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
