Senate Panel To Examine Verizon Wireless Spectrum Deals

Law360, San Diego (February 01, 2012, 8:34 PM ET) -- The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s antitrust panel is planning to review the effect of Verizon Wireless’ multibillion-dollar deals to purchase wireless spectrum licenses from several cable companies and cross-sell one another’s products, the panel's chair said Wednesday.

While no date has been set, the Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights Subcommittee is looking to schedule the hearing for sometime between Feb. 27 and the end of March, according to a spokeswoman for Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., the subcommittee’s chair. A list of witnesses has yet to...
