House Committee Sends Arctic Drilling Bill To Floor

Law360, Washington (February 2, 2012, 6:47 PM EST) -- A congressional committee pushed forward legislation Wednesday that would open up a portion of federally protected Arctic land for oil and gas drilling, saying the land was always intended to be used for natural resources.

Members of the House Committee on Natural Resources voted 29 to 13 — with bipartisan support — to send H.R. 3407 to the U.S. House of Representatives floor for debate.
