Sen. Blasts Express Scripts, Medco Deal On Antitrust Fears

Law360, New York (February 2, 2012, 5:21 PM EST) -- U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., took aim at Express Scripts’ proposal to purchase rival Medco Health Solutions Inc. in a letter to the Federal Trade Commission on Thursday, asserting that the merger would raise “serious competition concerns.”

The merger, if approved, would result in a company with coverage of 155 million people, 70 million more than the next-largest competitor, CVS Caremark Corp., Kohl said in a letter to FTC Chairman Jonathan D. Leibowitz.
