Law360, New York (February 03, 2012, 5:43 PM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday that Absolute Fuels LLC had generated renewable fuel credits without actually producing the necessary amount of fuel to obtain them, in a violation energy lawyers said involved roughly $62 million worth of credits.
In a notice of violation Thursday, the EPA said Absolute Fuels had generated roughly 48 million in invalid Renewable Identification Numbers from August 2010 to October. The Lubbock, Texas-based company faces a penalty of up to $37,500 for every day of each violation, the EPA said....
