Samsung Says 3G Suits Comply With EU Antitrust Law

Law360, New York (February 3, 2012, 1:58 PM EST) -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. believes that the European Commission will ultimately determine that the company's litigation to enforce its patents for third-generation wireless technology comply with the bloc's antitrust laws, the company said Friday.

The company said it would fully cooperate with the investigation the European Union antitrust watchdog launched Tuesday into whether Samsung's efforts, which include suits in a number of EU nations seeking to block sales of Apple Inc.'s popular iPhone devices, amount to an anti-competitive abuse of its patent rights.
