Hungarian Regulators Raid Microsoft Offices

Law360, New York (July 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hungarian competition authorities have raided the offices of Microsoft Corp., looking for evidence that the software giant abused its dominant market position.

Gazdasági Versenyhivatal, Hungary's antitrust regulator, said on Thursday that it had raided the Hungary subsidiary of Microsoft on July 19, investigating suspicions that the company had engaged in anti-competitive behavior.

GVH said it suspected the company had used conditions and favors to make selling Microsoft products more lucrative for distributors.
