House Panel Looks To Deepen Ties With Philippines

Law360, San Diego (February 7, 2012, 11:17 PM EST) -- A U.S. lawmaker and government officials on Tuesday backed efforts to strengthen trade and security ties between the U.S. and the Philippines.

Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., who chairs the U.S. House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade, said during a hearing that economic cooperation was important between the countries and that he supports proposed legislation to assist the Philippine apparel industry.
