Toyota Scion Has Defective Door Handles: Class Action

Law360, New York (February 06, 2012, 9:12 PM ET) -- Toyota Motor Corp. was hit with a putative class action in California federal court Friday claiming that the automaker's Scion vehicles have a defective rear hatch door handle that breaks off during normal use.

The suit claims that since 2004, hundreds of thousands of Scion xB and tC automobiles manufactured, sold and leased by Toyota contain a design defect or flaw with the rear hatch door and panel, and that the automaker has actively concealed the defect from consumers.
