Prosecutors Lose Bid To Add Gupta Charges

Law360, New York (February 07, 2012, 7:27 PM ET) -- A federal judge said Tuesday he would not allow prosecutors to bring new insider trading charges against former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director Rajat Gupta, though they might still introduce previously unheard evidence of tipping.

U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff denied a request from prosecutors to amend their list of charges against Gupta for what would be the second time, saying the case against the corporate luminary would go forward as is.
