Ex-Murkowski Aide Gets 5 Months For Fish Falsehoods

Law360, New York (February 7, 2012, 7:12 PM EST) -- A former fisheries aide to Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, was sentenced Tuesday to five months in prison and ordered to pay $150,000 for violating federal wildlife laws by fishing in one area and then falsely reporting that he had caught the fish in another area.

Arne Fuglvog, who according to prosecutors was once named “Fisherman of the Year” by United Fisherman of Alaska, could have made as much as $1 million with the fish he caught and falsely reported about.
