Boston Scientific Jumps Into Medtronic’s Patent Case

Law360, New York (July 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has cleared the way for Boston Scientific Corp. to intervene in Medtronic Inc.’s patent infringement suit against a group of other stent manufacturers, finding that the medical device company has a legitimate interest to protect its upcoming stent in the case.

Boston Scientific sought to join the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California earlier this month, alleging Medtronic planned to sue the Natick, Mass.-based company over its Promus stent once it is sold in the United States....
