Law360, New York (February 08, 2012, 7:45 PM ET) -- An Indiana state judge has ruled that Continental Casualty Co. has no obligation to cover defense costs or a $198 million settlement for Anthem Insurance Cos. Inc. in multidistrict litigation alleging the health insurer schemed to defraud health care providers.
Judge David Dreyer of the Marion Superior Court ruled Jan. 31 that Continental, a reinsurer, had no duty to defend or indemnify Anthem, finding that its policy offered no coverage for the claims in the underlying action.
