Law360, New York (February 08, 2012, 4:54 PM ET) -- The Federal Circuit on Wednesday upheld the U.S. International Trade Commission’s decision to fine China's Ninestar Technology Co. Ltd. $11.1 million for imports of ink cartridges that infringed Seiko Epson Corp. patents.
In a unanimous, precedential opinion, a three-judge panel found that the ITC did not violate Ninestar’s constitutional rights by levying a civil fine against the Chinese company for violating a cease-and-desist order barring Ninestar from importing ink cartridges that infringed Epson’s patented technology.
