Rothstein Pal Cops Plea In $1.2B Ponzi Prosecution

Law360, New York (February 8, 2012, 7:09 PM EST) -- An associate of Ponzi fraudster Scott Rothstein known as “Uncle Bill” pled guilty in Florida federal court on Wednesday for his role in the $1.2 billion scheme involving the sale of shares in sham legal settlements.

William Boockvor copped to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud during a hearing before U.S. Judge Daniel T.K. Hurley, according to court records.

Boockvor's sentencing is tentatively set for May 7. He faces a maximum of five years in prison.
