Law360, New York (February 09, 2012, 7:00 PM ET) -- Barneys New York Inc. said Thursday it had hired Kirkland & Ellis LLP as restructuring adviser, as the struggling luxury retailer continues to try to contain a debt load from a 2007 takeover by a private equity firm that threatens to push it into bankruptcy.
While the company has retained the firm's restructuring team to advise it in talks with lenders, it cited a recent upswing in business as a sign of optimism that a Chapter 11 stint is not inevitable.
