Law360, New York (February 10, 2012, 1:20 PM ET) -- A California federal jury ruled on Thursday that a medical infusion device sold by Sigma International does not infringe a patent owned by CareFusion 303 Inc., denying CareFusion's bid for $172 million in damages.
Following a two-week trial, the eight-person jury determined that a sensor component of Sigma's medication infusion pump did not infringe a CareFusion patent and that Sigma was therefore entitled to make and distribute its Spectrum-brand line of pumps.
